Cedar’s Story

Cedar

brody face

Cedar was born in March of 2008 as my one singleton in the flock to an adoring mother Violet.  Cedar was the first lamb I ever held.  Being an only child like me I felt an instant bond with him.  He was easily the biggest boy born on the farm and remains one of the biggest in the flock.

Cedar is quite bold and will fight he way tot the front of the group to get his shoulder and back scratched.  He devours all treats, hay, produce with gusto.

His black fleece is beautiful.  It has shine to it and is very soft and long.  It is lovely to work with.  Since Cedar is a neutered male and is so large he sometimes grows a 10 lb fleece.

Cedar is a major mama’s boy!  To this day he follows Violet around throughout the day.  Where she eats he wants to eat and where she naps he wants to too.  He is devoted to his mother and I find it endearing- hope she does too!

Watching how attached Cedar and Violet are I could never sell them off or separate them as most farms do.

Plum Blossom Farm is unique because all of the animals have a forever home here. Unlike other sheep farms, no animals are ever sold off to slaughter when they are done being “useful”. All our critters are sweet individuals and each one is like a family member to us. Thanks so much for supporting compassionate small farms!
